Solar Co-Op Informational Meeting
April 12, 2021 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Have you ever considered solar panels for your roof? In his book “To Heal a Fractured World,” Rabbi Jonathan Sacks suggests: “What duties do I have to something as amorphous as humanity in general, as inanimate as nature, or as intangible as generations not yet born? Any simple notion of responsibility is inadequate to such problems, which is why religious responsibility — responsibility to the infinite in terms of space, eternal in terms of time — can sometimes be more cogent than secular alternatives.”
Together with other faith communities and neighborhood organizations in Pittsburgh, Temple members can leverage their combined purchasing power and embrace their social responsibility in new ways. Even if you aren’t able to put solar panels on your home, there are other ways to purchase renewable energy or to advocate for renewable energy policy.
