Parent Speaker Series

Join us at Temple Emanuel for a three-part speaker series designed to support and inspire parents and caregivers as we navigate the ever-evolving world of childhood learning and emotional development. Come learn, reflect, and grow with us as we explore how to best support our children at every stage.
Part one: In their bestselling book When You Wonder, You’re Learning: Mister Roger’s Enduring Lessons for Raising Creative, Curious, Caring Kids, Gregg Behr and Ryan Rydzewski reveal Fred Rogers as more than a nice guy in a sweater. In fact, Fred was an ingenious scientists and a legendary teacher who was decades ahead of his time. Gregg and Ryan will explore Fred Rogers’ fascinating methods for helping parents and teachers build “neighborhoods” of their own: places that equip every child to become the best of whoever they are.
Part two: Erin Troup is a Licensed Professional Counselor from Sprout, with expertise in early childhood social-emotional development including anxiety, trauma, and attachment. She will offer tools and perspectives for supporting children through their big feelings and big moments.
Part three: The parent speaker series will conclude with a panel of childhood specialists representing a range of ages and therapeutic backgrounds. This interactive session will address questions that emerge from the first two workshops, along with additional topics that matter most to our community.
