The Temple Emanuel Environmental Sustainability Committee is Partnering with the Mt Lebanon Nature Conservancy to remove invasive plants from Bird Park on Sunday, December 5th at 1pm.   We will meet in the Bird Park Beadling Rd parking lot.  Please join us for this family friendly Hanukkah Mitzvah project.  We will be cutting back English Ivy from the woods surrounding the soccer field in Bird Park.  The Mt Lebanon Nature Conservancy has been working hard to free this area from invasive species and restore native plants.  If we are able to cut back the English Ivy that is taking over the area, there will be wildflowers in the Spring!  Please bring gloves, clippers, and even shovels if the ground isn’t frozen.  We will also provide hot chocolate.  To be extra environmentally friendly, consider bringing your own travel mug!  This event will obviously be heavily weather dependent.  If it is too cold or snowy, we will reschedule for the Spring.
