DESCRIPTION:We will be hosting our 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive!\nOur goal is to pack 150 bags of Thanksgiving sides for families facing food insecurities in the Carnegie community. \nIn order to plan for success\, we ask that you let us know who you plan to bring to volunteer and what items you plan to donate! \nThe best way to be sure we have enough of everything is for each participant to plan to bring at least 5 of the items you sign up for. For example\, if you plan to bring boxed mashed potatoes and gravy\, please plan to purchase 5 boxes of mashed potatoes and 5 boxes of gravy. \nWe will pack the boxes on November 23rd at 10am at Temple Emmanuel! \nIf you are unable to attend\, but would like to donate. Over the past two decades\, there have been over twenty shows about Haredi Jews on Israeli television\, ranging from family dramas like Shtisel to raunchy comedies such as Chanshi. There has even been a reality dating show\, Vort\, based on shidduchim (Haredi matchmaking) where young Haredi Jews go on pre-arranged dates with cameras rolling. Why are there so many TV shows about Haredi Jews\, and what do these shows tell us about Israeli society today? \nJoin us for bagels and nosh at 9:30 AM before the presentation begins at 10:00 AM in the Beit HaT’filah.
