SUMMARY:Community Seder
DESCRIPTION:Push back against anti-Semitism with love and matzah! \nOur interfaith partners and friends in the community are invited to join us\, in partnership with 2 For Seder\, for a Community Passover Seder! \n2 For Seder was created in 2019 by Marnie Fienberg\, daughter-in-law of Joyce Fienberg who was killed in the 2018 Tree of Life shooting\, to honor Joyce’s memory and approach the task of addressing anti-Semitism through openness and community-building. Temple Emanuel is honored to host 2 For Seder’s official Community Seder of 2024\, featuring guest speaker Marnie Fienberg. \nJoin us to learn about the Jewish faith and practices surrounding Passover and get to know Temple Emanuel members who will lead your table through prayers\, discussion\, and any questions you may have. We will read through an easily followed Haggadah\, our Seder text\, and share hors d‘oeuvres\, sweets\, and matzah over community-building conversation. We hope this seder will provide opportunities for connection and empowerment to challenge anti-Semitism through education and understanding. \nPlease fill out the form below by April 7th to reserve your seat for this exciting\, interfaith event! Organizations are encouraged to reserve tables instead of individual seats to allow for all those interested to be included. \nOur reservations have now closed. If you would like to learn more about this event\, please reach out to Sarah Mangan at smangan@templeemanuelpgh.org. \nOops! We could not locate your form.

SUMMARY:Mt. Lebanon Community Menorah Lighting: A Celebration of Light and Peace
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Mt. Lebanon’s first community Menorah lighting at Clearview Common! As the menorah shines during Hanukkah\, we’ll gather as neighbors to celebrate light\, peace\, resilience\, and community. \nThis event is open to everyone\, including Jewish community members\, friends\, neighbors\, and anyone who wants to stand together and celebrate the season’s traditions. \nWe’re also launching a Winter Apparel Collection to help keep our community warm. We are accepting new or gently used coats\, hats\, gloves\, scarves\, boots\, and warm socks in all sizes from infants through adults. Donations will be shared with local organizations supporting families throughout the South Hills. \nFree donuts will be served\, honoring the Hanukkah tradition of enjoying foods fried in oil to celebrate the miracle of the oil lasting eight days instead of one. \nThis free community event welcomes everyone. \nProudly co-sponsored by Temple Emanuel\, Beth El Congregation\, the South Hills JCC\, Chabad of the South Hills\, PJ Library\, the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh\, and StandWithUs.
